Lucy Virgen es programadora, crítica de cine
y periodista. Fue parte del grupo fundador del
ciec de la Universidad de Guadalajara, donde
colaboró con el historiador Emilio García Riera.
Ha trabajado con varios diarios y revistas en
América Latina, entre ellos
Público, Reforma,
Luvina
y la revista brasileña
Cinemais
. Fundó
y fue editora durante sus primeros dos años de
la revista online especializada en cine
El ojo
que piensa
. De 2006 a 2010 fue directora de
programación del ficg. Durante este periodo
su influencia fue decisiva para elevar tanto el
número de títulos como la calidad artística del
programa. Ha participado como dictaminadora
de proyectos cinematográficos con varias
instituciones, itvs Independent Television
Services, Pro Imágenes Colombia, entre otros.
Desde los últimos diez años y hasta hoy tiene
un programa semanal de radio. Actualmente es
coordinadora para México y América Central de
Ventana Sur, mercado de cine latinoamericano
organizado por el Instituto Nacional de Cine y
Artes Audiovisuales incaa (Argentina) y Marché
du Film-Festival de Cannes. Es coautora del libro
Cinema Mexicain
editado por el Centro Georges
Pompidou de París y el British Film Institute.
Lucy is a programmer, critic and journalist. She
was a member of the founding team of
ciec
, of the
University of Guadalajara, where she collaborated
with the Historian Emilio García Riera. She has
worked for several journals and magazines in Latin

quality of the artistic program. She has participated
as consultant for cinematographic projects in several
institutions,

years till today she has a radio program once a week.
Lucy is now coordinator of Ventana Sur for Mexico
and Central America, a market searcher for Latin
films organized by the Instituto Nacional de Cine
y Artes Audiovisuales

of the book
