Eliza Capai dirige documentales de género
y cultura. Como corresponsal ha producido
desde 25 países. En 2012 ganó el Premio
cnt de Periodismo en la categoría Medio
Ambiente con el documental
Cicloactivistas.
En el mismo año, viajó en el Rainbow
Warrior iii y realizó videos para Greenpeace.
Entre 2011 y 2013 produjo para el Canal
Futura de Brasil documentales desde Europa,
Sudamérica y África. Paralelamente hizo
videos para Wikileaks desde el Caribe e
Inglaterra. En 2010 viajó durante siete meses
por África y produjo un cuadro televisivo
sobre mujeres en distintas culturas;

El documental se estrenó con el premio de
Mejor Filme en la Muestra Nuevos Rumbos
de Festival de Río y Premio Especial del
Jurado de Fémina.

The documentary was presented with the
Award for Best Film at the Muestra Nuevos
Rumbos of the Festival de Río, and received the
Premio Especial del Jurado de Fémina Award.
Sinopsis: Tres mundos del nordeste de Brasil: una verde ciudad en Maranhão,
el interior sequizo de Piauí y la costa de Maceió. Las tres comparten un pasado
esclavista que generó un violento machismo. En cada una de las ciudades
seguimos a una mujer -que acaba de conseguir su emancipación económica
mediante el mayor programa de transferencia de ingresos del mundo-, y a su
familia. Al enfrentar hijas y madres, se vislumbra una nueva historia, un nuevo
futuro de la autonomía femenina.
Synopsis: Three worlds in the Northeast of Brazil: A green city in Maranhão, the
Dry interior of Piauí, and the cost of Maceió. The three share a history of slavery
that generated a violent machismo. In each city we follow a woman, who had just
achieved economic emancipation for her and her family, thanks to one of the biggest
programs of income transfer in the world. When facing daughters and mothers, we
can see a new future for the independence of women.
