I am also pleased to say that we are opening
the possibility for the participants to receive
funds from production or post-production
companies to help them finish their projects.
This year, thanks to the Institute of Mexican
Cinematography (Imcine), the filmmaker of a
Mexican project will have the opportunity to
go to Amsterdam to assist the Documentary
International Festival which takes place each
year. The possibility to collaborate with the
Flaherty Seminar in New York is also opened.
Last August, during the Costa Rica Film
Festival 2013 “Peace with The Earth”, the first
DocuLab.1 Costa Rica took place. It covered
the Central America and the Caribbean region.
This experience will be repeated in the next
edition of the 2014 festival. It is also planned
to open a department to attend the projects
of the Andean Region, using the Viña del
Mar Festival as a frame, and to open another
department to give support to the projects
that the Latin Community is developing in
the United States, leaning on the Guadalajara
International Film Festival in Los Angeles

Now, with these good news, I welcome the
Documentary Filmmakers who will participate
in DocuLab.6 Guadalajara, one of the main
activities that give prominence to

, and that
in each edition gives us motives to be so proud.
