I welcome the participants to the Sixth
DocuLab, which will take place during the
29th edition of the International Film Festival
in Guadalajara (
ficg
). The 35 participants,
who will join us in this event, consolidated as
a very important institution of support for
the development of non fiction cinema of our
American Continent, will live an enriching
experience by participating in the debates
and analysis in the dissection of the thirteen
winning documentaries. It is also important
to mention that this edition is possible, to
a large degree, because we again have the
participation of The Ibermedia Program, to
which we are so grateful for its strong and
valuable support.
The initiative, under the leadership of the
filmmaker Nicolas Echeverría, gathers each
year, experts in cinematography to dissect
projects at advanced post production stage,
proving each time its efficiency. This process of
analysis and debate helps in the achievement
of an optimal final result.
We are pleased to see the results of having in
the Documentary Competition of this edition
of our
ficg
, four films that went through the
dissection process in previous editions of
DocuLab Guadalajara. Several more were
selected in other international festivals, where
they obtained different recognitions.

BEYOND OUR BORDERS
DocuLab Guadalajara is already
an individual label of
ficg
, but now
a new stage is beginning, in which
the idea is to go beyond borders;
not only to wait for the materials
to arrive at the festival, but to
go search for them in different
regions.
