The DocuLab programme presents four different activities: DocuLab Análisis, DocuLab Construye, Master Classes and Dialogues.
Between 6 and 8 feature documentaries in postproduction stage will be selected to be screened, with the presence of the director and two or three documentary experts specially invited to this activity. After the screening, the experts will advise and give creative and conceptual feedback to the director, leaded by Nicolás Echevarría, academic advisor of DocuLab, who will guide and promote the dialogue between the speakers, as well as with the audience: Fellow participants, industry delegates, and special guests. The intention of this dialogue is to find the strengths and weaknesses of the project, in order to draw a route of possible changes, for the benefit of the story.
In order to contribute to the conclusion and distribution of the documentaries presented, DocuLab makes for the first time an alliance with FICG Industry - Guadalajara Construye / Works in Progress, where 3 of the documentaries selected to DocuLab Análisis that are in the most advanced stage of postproduction and in search of financing for its completion, will be presented to accredited professionals attending the festival: producers, distributors, sales agents, service companies, funds and festival representatives, with the possibility of finding funds to finish and distribute the documentary.
Besides this, one of the films selected at DocuLab Construye will also be chosen to participate in the FICG section "Guadalajara goes to Cannes", presented in the framework of the Marché du Film in France, in its next edition 2018.
